Meet Dr. Gilman


Brian A. Gilman, DDS

The Gilman Orthodontic practice was founded in 1964 by Dr. Albert Gilman, father of Dr. Brian Gilman. Dr. Brian has now been at the head of the practice for over three decades! The grandchildren of the original patient families continue to be treated at Gilman Orthodontics. Dr. Brian Gilman loves his profession and the way it allows him to remain close with the community. Seeing the smiles he crafts is only a small fraction of the joy he gets from his profession!

Continuing Education

Dr. Brian Gilman loves to continue developing his knowledge and skills. He enjoys continuing education in general dentistry and orthodontics. Some of his favorite courses include orthodontic technique and theory, practice management, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements, CPR training, and infection control.

Orthodontic Experience

Dr. Brian began practicing orthodontics in 1983 and by 1996, he obtained the American Board of Orthodontics Diplomate status. He is passionate about crafting gorgeous smiles and boosting the confidence and self-esteem of his patients. Orthodontic treatments can take years to complete, this opens the opportunity to foster meaningful relationships with patients. Over the years, patients become part of the office family, allowing us to share in their life events and celebrate happy moments.

Family Life

Dr. Gilman grew up in Glen Cove, NY, and has been a resident of East Northport since 1996. He is married to Dr. Bonnie L. Yellin, sharing their life and practice. Together, they have three beautiful children Jordana, Jonathan, and Benjamin. When he is not at the office, he likes to stay active by running, lifting weights, and cycling. Dr. Gilman also takes full advantage of his proximity to Long Island by partaking in the outdoor activities available in the area including beach, hiking, and nature.
