YOUR INITIAL CONSULTATION IS YOUR KICK-OFF SESSION TO YOUR TREATMENT PLAN!

During your initial consultation, we will introduce you to our team, educate you on the orthodontic process, and perform a comprehensive oral exam. Once your diagnosis is determined by the doctor and you have shared more detail about your smile ambitions, the next step is to discuss your custom treatment plan. During the initial consultation, you can expect:

  • Review your dental and medical history forms
  • Provide a complete oral exam, with X-rays, to determine whether treatment is necessary
  • Help you create a customized treatment plan
  • Discuss all financial information, insurance options, and payment plans

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE INITIAL CONSULTATION?

Once your initial consultation is complete, the next step is to begin treatment! Your first appointment is also referred to as the placement appointment and it is the time when you receive your new appliance. We recommend that you set aside an hour for this appointment. Our team is very experienced and will do their best to maintain your comfort levels high during this time.

SCHEDULING APPOINTMENTS

Most treatment plans include visits to our office every four to eight weeks. Our goal is to interfere with your life as little as possible. When you schedule these appointments, let us know the days and times that best fit your schedule.

We are sensitive to the unpredictable nature of life. If you find yourself running behind schedule or unavailable for your previously scheduled appointment, please call as soon as possible and we will put our best effort forward to accommodate the changes. VISITING THE DENTIST DURING ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT

While you undergo orthodontic treatment, it is important to keep up with your routine cleanings and checkups with your family dentist. Generally, these visits should be scheduled every six months. However, if your family dentist identifies an opportunity for you to benefit from additional care, we will be happy to coordinate with them to ensure that your needs are met.
